Capt Joyce is the owner and a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer with over 20 years experience in the Dive Industry.  She is the former owner of Land O'Lakes Scuba, moving it from Land O'Lakes to our present location at the Sponge Docks in Tarpon Springs.  Capt Joyce worked her way from an Open Water Diver helping out at the LOL dive center, working as staff then earning her Divemasters, becoming a PADI Open Water Instructor, gaining experience and earning the rating of Master Scuba Diver Trainer.  Her experience on dive boats and her natural ability to learn seamanship, she breezed through the USCG Master Captains License on her first try.  Capt Joyce has been operating her own dive charter business since 1995 and upgraded her dive vessel with a new 35' Sportcraft in 2002.  Capt Joyce enjoys teaching all levels of diving and especially enjoys teaching children and teenagers the wonderful world of scuba diving.  One of her passions is Underwater Hunting which she is well known for.

Tim, a.k.a. "The Man", came to us from Wisconsin where he was an avid year round diver, yes that’s right, even Ice Diver! He has moved to Florida (like most of us) for a career and climate change. Tim has been an Auto Mechanic for 18 yrs and is currently the head open water dive Instructor. He has been a part of the Scuba Industry since 1984.

Brian came to us from Thailand, where he was working for a very busy dive operation, in May of 2006. Brian enjoys taking his love for diving and teaching it to new students. He also teaches the majority of our advanced open water courses. Brian loves to talk about his diving experiences and loves to hear about yours. If you haven’t met him, or you haven’t started diving yet, swing by the shop and meet him. “Diving is a great way to forget about the hustle and bustle of regular life. You can leave all of that stuff behind and escape to a truly unique world without the distractions we contend with on a daily basis."

Caleb was one of our best boat crew who decided he wanted to be a Divemaster then Instructor! So barely 6 months have gone by and he has completed both goals!! Caleb Hayes spent most of his life in the South Pacific and after 15 years in corporate America is now looking forward to teaching Open Water and Discover Scuba here at Narcosis Scuba.  Caleb has been diving since 1996 and enjoys all the great diving the Gulf of Mexico has to offer.  He is looking forward to teaching you how to dive or providing guided tours through the Padi Discover Local Diving program. Caleb has complete flexibility regarding class schedules so if you have been thinking about taking a course but didn’t think you could due to your schedule Caleb is  your Instructor!!

The newest addition to Narcosis Scuba is Sara! She is from Maryland and was doing cold water diving, then moved to Florida not to long ago. She was a Mortgage Processor for 5 years and decided to change careers and her life! She is certified as of right now to Rescue diver, and next she is getting her Nitrox cert!

Evelyn, a.k.a, "Mrs. J" migrated from her own PADI 5 Star Dive Center in Montana to join us for some warmer diving in the Gulf of Mexico.  She was trained during the "Dark Ages" of scuba diving and is up to any diving challenge.

Michael a.k.a, “The Tank Monkey 1st Class” came in to get Open-Water certified and we haven’t been able to get rid of him since. He was quick to get his Underwater unter certification and is now hooked on spear fishing. Michael is progressing and learning quickly and is a promising student, soon to be an Advanced and then Rescue diver. Michael works on just about every little thing you could think of: crystal river trips, filling tanks, VIPs, cleaning and pulling weeds. We look forward to having him as an employee for years to come.

Capt Jeff has been with Narcosis since the first year it opened; first as a PADI instructor and store employee, and now as boat captain. A U. S. Coast Guard Licensed Captain and a retired Coast Guard Chief Aviation Survival Technician and Helicopter Rescue Swimmer with over 20 years experience on the water, Capt. Jeff first learned to dive in Hawaii in 1984. He moved to Florida to the St. Petersburg area in 1989, since then he has worked on several dive boats in the area gaining experience. Capt. Jeff became a Scuba Instructor in 1994. He is an Instructor for PADI, PDIC, TDI, and a Dan O2 Instructor. Capt. Jeff is also trained as an Emergency Medical Technician and a Dive Medical Technician. Your enjoyment and personal safety while on board are his top priority. If you dive with us on the weekends, you’ll be sure to meet him! He’s our fulltime weekend captain now. Hey ladies he’s still single!

Bud Nowak – Staff / Instructor

Sometimes you never know where you will find your new friends and Bud showed up one day from the cold northern regions to dive with us.  The next thing you know, he moved down here.  He’s been our friend ever since.  When he lived up north he also worked part time for a dive center there.  Every day when Bud got off work he came by our dive center, the next thing you know, he was working in the back.  You will find him here in the evenings and some weekends diligently working on gear, mixing Nitrox tanks and keeping us all entertained with his life experiences.  Bud is also a qualified instructor.

No one has spent more time working here, other than fulltime employees, than Wayne Hannaseck AKA "The Man".  Wayne is our boat Captain and Mechanic, but most important he is our friend.  There are so many things he does that it’s impossible to list them all here.  I can tell you that his hand is in everything from the compressor, building boot boxes, fixing the boat, shuttling people, equipment and gear all over the state.  As in a corner stone that holds up a building, he keeps us strong and alive by his big heart and love for diving.

Pam has quickly breezed through her Advanced Open Water and Rescue Diver classes, and is now a certified Divemaster. You’ll see Pam helping out a lot at the store, or crewing the boat as well. Pam is an important part of the Narcosis Family, and we really love having her here.

One of the last true Divemasters. Todd came the furthest to be with us. Traveling over 3000 miles from a small farming village located in Misawa, Japan. He is another one of those crazy cold water divers, with a goal to dive the waters off of Antarctica. Todd currently puts in long hours keeping narcosisscuba.com one of the best scuba sites around. So if you have an idea or notice a mistake be sure to shoot him an email.
