Stacey Goodrich - Staff, Instructor, Crew

PADI MSDT #262911

In 2006 Stacy accompanied her husband for a four year assignment to Australia. What better place to learn how to dive!! After a year or so, she was hooked and walked away from her State Department position to teach diving full time. As a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer, Stacy has had the chance to teach all kinds of diving to all kinds of people. Even the two years in Arizona could not deter her from teaching. “Whoda thunk there were be so many divers in the desert”!!

Stacy is glad to have settled in St. Petersburg and is looking forward to diving in salty, fish-infested water again. Her specialties include: Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Rescue, Dive Master, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Deep, Navigation, Boat, Drift, Wreck, EFR and Project Aware Specialties

Steve Summers - Divemaster, Crew

PADI Divemaster #304972

Steve Summers may have gotten his first taste of the underwater world in a cold, muddy quarry during his junior year at his alma mater, the University of Oklahoma, but he certainly has expanded his destination repertoire since. With exotic dives under his belt such as Rangiroa and Bora Bora in Tahiti, the Great Barrier Reef and Holmes Reef in the Coral Sea, off the coast of Sicily in the Mediterranean, the Bay Island’s in Honduras, the Cayman Islands, Belize, Cozumel and the Bahamas you can see why Steve heads up our dive travel for Narcosis Scuba.

Despite his early start, much of Steve's diving came later in life. Living in the middle of the country and not knowing any other divers, Steve put his dreams of golden beaches, blue water and diving on hold, finished his BA in Public Relations and plunged into his career. After multiple moves and a number of years, Steve finally relocated to Florida and immediately got back into scuba. Since that time Steve has traveled the world diving and continued progressing through the PADI certifications to dive master.

Along the way, Steve has groomed his own diving partners. His entire family dives including his wife Amy, daughter Jessica, daughter Ashley and son-in-law CJ. He assures everyone his two grandchildren Laurel-Mae and JT also will be divers as soon as they are old enough.

When asked about his favorite type of diving, Steve’s answer comes quick, "Walls! Definitely walls!!" But he also adds, "Close behind that is anywhere with warm, blue water and BIG fish! And preferably with a beach nearby for after the dive!"

So what's left on Steve's bucket list? East Africa, Red Sea, Papa New Guinea, Palau, Chuuk and Thailand just to name a few.

Art Hansen - Divemaster, Crew

PADI Divemaster #307236

Art is a diver and a sailor. He spends his weekdays working as a mechanical engineer for a large construction company and his weekends diving and sailing. On the weekends, if he is not working on the dive boat or helping with classes, you can often find him sailing the gulf with the breeze in his hair (what’s left of it) and a smile on his face.

Art began diving in 1987 while attending the University of Maryland. He spent 4 years as an Infantry Officer in the US Army. After his time in the Army, Art moved to Florida were he has enjoyed the warm weather and beautiful waters. In 2005, he moved to the Tampa area and discovered Narcosis Scuba and has been diving with us ever since. He has progressed through the Advanced, Rescue, and Divemaster courses with the Narcosis team (and a few specialty courses). He now works as a Divemaster and boat crew as much as his busy schedule allows. His eventual plan is to become an Instructor and Licensed Captain and retire from the daily grind and spend his days immersed in the diving lifestyle.

Art’s favorite diving is wrecks, the bigger the better. He has experience many of the big wrecks around Florida and keeps a chart in his office to track all the wrecks he has seen. His goal is to dive all the major wrecks around Florida and anywhere else he can find them.

Ed Hunt - Repair Technician.

Ed is our repair technician. He has been with Narcosis Scuba Center for over five years. You can say he is the man behind the "curtain." Ed repairs all types of equipment, from regulators to BCDs and everything else all the way to underwater scooters. If you have any questions about scuba gear Ed is definitely your man!

Divemaster #233813

Dzeni is originally from Sarajevo, Bosnia, but he moved to Florida in 2003 from Maryland where he had a hard time finding diving venues. He completed his Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver and Divemaster classes at Narcosis. When he’s not crewing the boat, he’s doing house renovations and repairs.

Dzeni is currently on medical leave but we hope to have him back during the summer.
